Difference in manuals?
11.09.05 at 00:09:34

V3 2000 AGP SGRAM
V3 2000 AGP SDRAM
V3 2000 AGP SDRAM TV out

V3 3000 AGP SGRAM
V3 3000 AGP SDRAM
V3 3000 AGP SDRAM TV out

I'm not sure if these were all sold in retail
(V3 2000 AGP SDRAM and V3 3000 AGP SDRAM TV out were)
but if they were; is there a difference in the manuals?
And I don't mean a difference between the 2000 and 3000 but between the various cards of each speed.

Seems pointless to buy the complete retail package for each card if the only difference is the card itself Grin

There is a difference between the SD-RAM and the SG-RAM boards. The manuals for the SD-RAM-versions have written "Multimedia Accelerator with 16 MB SDRAM for PCI" (V3 3k PCI) or "Multimedia Accelerator with 16 MB SDRAM for AGP 2x or PCI Bus" (V3 2k PCI) on it, the SG-RAM-models have an additional flyer with "Voodoo3
TM
SGRAM Model Information". In my V3 2k PCI-box where a SG-RAM-card is inside there is no other manual than this flyer and the Quick Install Guide but I don't know if that box is as complete as it was when it was sold.

I don't think there is a difference between models with or without TV-Out because it was optional and it isn't mentioned in the manual.

Noticeable: at the manual for the SG-RAM-models there is a PCI-card pictured and below there is the connector listed separate - one AGP-connector and one PCI-connector, although I never saw a Voodoo 3 AGP with SG-RAM (except prototypes).

Compaq V3-1000 is an AGP card with SGRAM as is the Velocity 100/200.

If I'm not mistaking, they're at the very least, prototypes.

3dfx Voodoo 3 2000 AGP 16MB SGRAM:

Also, check Gary's V3 Prototypes page, there's a V3 3000 AGP SGRAM on there.

That's his Velocity 200 like the one I have, the V3 2000 chip was used for the Velocity 200 Wink

and anotherthing frist you are asking us about the differnces of the manuals , well sorry I'm still recalling that there is no Ve 2K and 3K AGP's with SGRAM made in production so also no Manual to be asked about them, as the Prototypes from gary are called Voodoo3, hen never said that they were Voodoo2000 and 3000 AGP with's SGRAM Wink

Cause the speed is 143Mhz, 164Mhz is doesn't mean that it's a V3 2K or 3K, BTW the 3K runs at 166 not 164.
Thier biosses also state Avenger and  not Voodoo3 200 and 3000 AGP with SGRAM.

I know I know, The V3 series is very confusiong for all of us, there is no proof that there are V3 2K and 3K AGP's with SGRAM

I'll repeat myself-

There was V3 AGP SGRAM boards sold to the public that were not prototypes.

Gateway V3-1000
Compaq V3-1000
Velocity 100

Yes there was SGRAM prototypes too but I can assure they didn't come with a manual which is what this thread is about.

Generally speaking these cards were never sold to the public, I have seen one or two V3-2000 with TV out though.
