That's very interesting TM30 :) Never heard of the brand Garnet BTW, It sounds like a cooking brand or so :) Your Garnet Voodoo3 looks like that big Voodoo3 2000 AGPPrototype that was on ebay a few months ago, I'll try to find the photo of it :) While I was googleing around I came across this ASUS Mobo bundled with an ASUS Voodoo3 3000 AGP: and here the card: |

Nice find @TM30!
Well, Garnet is just one of numerous asian small gfx card manufacturers without own facilities: they just order an OEM boards and fit them with cooling/stickers/boxes. Like Point of View, BFG Tech, Crucial, GeiL, Celestica and many-many other gfx brands - some well-known all over the world, while others barely seen on any market at all... I'm not completely sure Garnet is _still_ alive (can't recall any GF 6 Series boards from them) but a year ago they were OK... So nothing unusual in Garnet brand, but I never heard of them making Voodoo 3! So for V3 chips we currently have: 3dfx/STB, Quantum3D, Powercolor, Supertek, Compaq, Gateway, Dell, ASUS and Garnet... Am I missed someone (except mysterious A-Trend)? 9 brands while usually (for Joe Shmoe users) it is stated that only 3dfx produced V3 cards;) |
