hello,everyone , i have a question about my voodoo5 5500 pci graphic rams!

as you know,there are eight rams on each side of voodoo5 board and general the model of rams are same,but i find one of them is slight different from the others.....

seven rams's model is MT 0012 ******6 and left is MT 0014 ******6 , some people said it has been repaired, but i do not believe coz i bought from a guy who just update his machine and comes with manual and original drivers cd.......so i am confused about it

I have seen the same on a very few other of my 3dfx Cards, albeit only on Voodoo2 and Voodoo3 ones.

Mostly the manufacturing dates differ slightly on a few of the Chips, haven't seen a different manufacturer being used on one Card.

i have seen some voodoo cards with different manufacturer on it ,that must be repaired and unvaluable to collect...

now i know this is a normal situation and be happy to identify from fanconfly...

and do you know how many voodoo4 4500 mac edition prototype exist now.i saw one from 3dfx gallery website and know the owner is oskar from spain.

Well, I have no Idea how many Mac Voodoo4 Prototypes exist in detail, but I can imagine it can't be many ;)

Cheaper to throw away the card and give the owner another, I doubt they were repaired as labor and handling costs are being so high.

True story, car related since I'm in the auto industry-

I watched a video where a car was removed off an assembly line with a FORKLIFT through the doors since it cost more money to shut down the line and fix the problem then what the car was worth to make.

The simple explaination is 3dfx used ram from many different companies, the card doesn't care if it's not the same brand as long as it is all made to the same spec. I had a Voodoo board that had three different brands of ram on it!

that is strange,three different brands of ram,is that a voodoo5 card ?
