This is true! ;D
Orchid Righteous 3D (Voodoo1, 1st model): "3D So Real It Must Be Righteous". Creative 3D Blaster Voodoo2 12Mb: "The Fastest Gameplay.Ever!" "...Do you dream of sustained frame rates of 30, 40, or even 60 frames per second?" The 3dfx STB boxes don't have much of the gratitous phrases on them as the third party ones. The third party ones had a cool play on words! ;) |

Yes, I look back on all my 3dfx boxes and see the 10 year warranty and it makes me laugh sometimes :) but then I get upset, because I still wish they were there to support us! :(
The shortest warranty I have seen is on my Orchid Righteous. It's only a 2 years 'Parts & Labour' warranty! :( Still, won't make a difference now! :D |

The Osborne Personal Computer looks quite heavy. Bet that was a b*st**d to carry to and from work, day in, day out! ;D
You can bet now that the Osborne Personal Computer is the technical equivalent of a modern wristwatch by today's standards. ::) I bet even our microwave's have more memory and processor speed than them! ;D |

isn't "lifetime warranty" shortened to 10 years?
(like "confinement for life" last only about 15 years or so... ;D ) |

I believe that many of today's vendors who produce graphics cards for the likes of ATI and nVidia, inherited their designs of their boxes from 3Dfx.
3Dfx boxes were some of the first to feature faces of people (mostly focused on the eyes on some boxes). Since then, I look at today's graphics cards and there are still a lot around who adopt the strategy of designing a face and highlighting it as the main image on the front of their boxes, whether it be humans, animals or made up characters. I think 3Dfx's marketing design stuck with a lot of other companies. |

The InnoVision Mighty 3DII has to be the best:
"3 million triangles per second" - A true fact. :) " 180 Mpixels/sec with scan line" - Again, another true fact. They could have elaborated on what 'Mpixel' was for the layman, and scan line is obviously the incorrect term if they are referring to SLI. But this is the best ;) : "90 million dual-textured" - dual textured WHAT? ??? Processess? Pixels? Operations? Sheep? Cats? Hamburgers? ::) |

I wish this unnamed Voodoo2 box had some quirky comments, but not one! :-/ Very un-Voodoo like!
Not even a company name, logo or details on it either! I'll post a seperate topic about this card in a moment. :) |
