Great news obi-Wan ;), being a 3dfx fanatic I personally would rather have a V6K over the fastest ati or nvidia card on the market today.
Someday, I to hope to experience the pleasure of owning such a rare and unique video card ::) |
Title: Re: My V6K system! Post by Obi-Wan_Kenobi on 07.12.05 at 18:40:38
Thanx BFG3dfx & Voodoo5500!
well yeah it has a much higher priority than any new card out there, just the layout of that device is quite amazing, anyways I understand the difficulties 3dfx Interactive had with designing that big green thing! |
Title: Re: My V6K system! Post by jandarsun8 on 08.12.05 at 04:05:43
Congrates man. It's a card that most of us drool over having (well, I do at least :) ). Unfortunately (?) (sorry for the spelling, been drinking), fundage on such a card is sometimes out of the pocket book range, so it's always nice to see someone else's dream coming true with acquiring such a card. Again, congrates man.

Obi-Wan, is that a serial mouse¿ What OS you running¿ Win95c would be a nice configuration with a Voodoo 5 6K. I'd remove that wallpaper, that will significantly reduce system performance.

You finally got it! Oby-Wan_Kenoby is happy, one of his dreams has just come true!

I don't know if it's the same person, but they both seriously remind me of The Doctor's Incredibly More Advanced Linux Kernel "Crunch"© style of post. And it's none of "your" business whether he's running an OS installed from a burned CD anyway, he's aware of what he's doing. |

Tr00
Anyway getting a copy of original licensed windows it's not a problem using ebay, in the matter of fact my university has some sort of collaboration with microsoft slovenia so we get all the latest microsoft products for free :) (with separate licences for everyone) students only of course. btw lol I have better kernel config than u mwahah The important thing is that Obi's system works so ppl can pirate obi's quad vsa-100 as much as they wish to... if they can |

Title: Re: My V6K system! Post by hanksemenec on 28.12.05 at 00:04:10
Xilinx controlls:
1) Drives individual Resets for 4 VSA100 2) Drives 14MHz reference clock for VSA100 3) Drives 14MHz reference clock to Display PLL ICS chip 4) Monitors 12V power and 3.3V power Hank |

Title: Re: My V6K system! Post by Obi-Wan_Kenobi on 28.12.05 at 16:14:57
Thanx Voodoo5500 :) when you get one you may carry the name Voodoo6000 ;)
uhm I had a question and that recalls: Now I see that the Voodoo5 6000 can support Single chip and Quad chip and FSAA modes X2 x4 and X8. What about FSAA x6 and Dual Chip mode is this theoreticly a possibillity? If So would a new driver be needed or also a special Bios? Friendly Regards, Jedi Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi. |
Title: Re: My V6K system! Post by roflkopp on 28.12.05 at 16:33:50
I think support for 6xAA would be a much bigger problem then dualchip rendering.
Each chip would have to render 1,5 FSAA samples, which is impossible, imo. And I also don't think, thats possible to efficiently share rendering load betweegn 2 VSA100 which render (2x)2AA samples and other 2 VSA100 which only have to provide (2x)1 AA samples. But you may use coulourless fsaaselector to change aa samplepositions. So you can built a 6xSGAA sample pattern at the cost of 8xAA (2 unused samples)... ;) |

Title: Re: My V6K system! Post by Obi-Wan_Kenobi on 28.12.05 at 20:16:16
it sure did St4r4m4m4 8)
it actually began with the Velocity 200 hehe that card gave me the idea that the Prototype section is very interesting :) and a Voodoo5 6000 was always on my plans well everyone noticed that hehe, first there was that moment wher e I could of recieved one for free but I was goofed there that was atrick, that is something I will never forget, just a lame joke by some arsehole and the thing witht the Voodoo5 6000 Rev.A3 3400, also was a knock off that one went from eexpensive to unpayable well the Rev.A 3700 is like Heaven and thanx to everyone in this great forum for helping me stay on the light side and very special thanx go to the Administrator --> Gary S. Donovan and new user Hank Semenec for the great effort and care of my card. well all has come to it's place here, now I will take a long rest and play with the Rev.A 3700 for some time :) |
