The normal speed of the v3 3500 TV are 183Mhz. The v3 with memories of 5ns can run at 200mhz without troubles...

and yor v4 can be overclocket at 180mhz without troubles...

normal 5,5ns
but some card had 5,0ns ram! but i guess (if they are sold under the name of 3dfx) they are clocked at 183mhz! only falcon-northwest cards are clocked at 200mhz...and some prototypes of course...but with a 5,0ns sample you can oc very well :D

reason i posted this is i got a 200 mhz card fro someone and its got 5.5ns ram but comes with a fan, now the card i got with 5ns ram seems to be the normal 3500 no fan or anything, but it does have the phillips tuner, i thought maybe all cards with that tuner might have the 5ns ram?

i dont have a system up and running to check this card yet but will soon, if anyone as a similar card do you know how much it o/c?

a 5,5ns v3 3500 with fan is a falcon-nw right? only selected ram was installed on them in order to reach 200mhz!

Eye-Q has a v3 3500 (with tuner) and 5ns! what is the date your 5ns-card was built?

I purchased a 3500 with 5 ns-RAM this week, it isn't here yet. I'll look which date it has been built when it arrives.

hmm if it has a Philips tuner and a Fan to cool the 3dfx 355 chip aka the 3500 chip it may well be a 200Mhz proto type, the ram should be runn'n at 200Mhz but it also could very well be a Falcon Northwest version.

here a pic of your card what it should be then:

and a Falcon Northwest would of looked more like this one:

Ya i got that top card with the fan but it 5.5 ram but is has a sticker saying 200mhz, now the card with the philips tuner and 5ns has no fan but it came in a regular retail box but someone has marked with a pen different conection points, not sure who because everything else in the box is brand new never touched.

date on card is? hmm i dont see it anywhere, i see it on the 2000 but not the 3500 --> unless its that # on the sticker which in 9939

to see the date on a 3500 you must remove the backplate and then look at the spot where the backplate get's screwed opn the backside ;)

OK, have you ever done this, because im very confused about what back plate it is your talking about, not the heatsink right? cause there no date there and its not the plate that holds it to the case either right, cause took out the screew and pulled the plate away from both cards and nothing there either. please give me a more detailed description or for me a photo with an arrow is wortrh a thousand words  ::)

The date code at my "common" 3500 is there, maybe you don't see the wood for the trees ;) :

Not all 3500-TV have the date in that location.

Not all, but maybe VDX's has it there and he just didn't spotted it yet. ;) If the date code at his card is at that spot my post was helpful, otherwise he has to search again. ;)

Most are located under the bracket, I think only the later ones are in the center of the PCB.

Ok, ty so much for your help, and no i cant see the wood, as a fact it aint there on either of the 2 i checked but then it wasnt under the plate either, so now im gonna spend quite a bit of time looking ;)

Ok,ok, i found it and its not cause im old and use a magnifying glass, back side behind bios chip, ok so this is also a common spot i think because my regular 3500 is there too, so the date on the 5ns one is 3599 and my regular one is 3399 and the 200 w/fan is 2999, by the way the 200 w/fan was under plate as Obi-Wan said

yeah my 3500's are identical, something very nice to have they are both Rev.A 3199's Revision A from week 31 year 1999.  8)

Today my 3500 TV with 5 ns RAM arrived. :) The date code says 9948, it is in the same place I displayed. My first 3500 has 5.5 ns RAM and has been built in the 42nd week of 1999.

to calculate ram speen in Hz (cycles per second)  you take 1cycle/5ns = 200Mhz.

5ns = 0.000000005s.  8)

Or, you could divide 1000 by the ns'. This isn't accurate but will give you a rough estimate.

1000/6 = 166.666666....
1000/5.5 = 181.81818181....
1000/5 = 200
