Title: 3dfx Motherboard question Post by m14radu on 29.04.07 at 21:09:22
Hi,
Everybody know that for the 3dfx cards the recent and best modern mobo is the KT333. Since a few days i`m surfing on the net in order to find a better mobo. To pity that i did not find one..... I do have 2 questions: 1. Know somebody a chipset list on the internet with all the existing chipset and theyr specification ? 2. It is possible to change the Mobo in order to work with AGP2x ? Itīs there a mod that can be done to the mobo ? Br. Radu. |

I think that in order for a motherboard to change voltage for agp port, you'd either need to set the voltage in bios to 3.3V, but I don't think that would work.
Other would be to change chipset, but that's impossible. :) |

Well, i`m not sure, but i think that on the market exist a lot of chipset that can still work with 3.3V , but because of the marketing rules, they are limited.
Such a chipset, once found, can be modded for 3dfx cards. The only chipset list that i found is this: http://www.ybet.be/en-hardware/chipset-pc.htm Some Mobo allow to rise the AGP Voltage . If we rise the AGP Voltage to approx. 3.3V and put in the AGP Slot an 3dfx card......theoreticaly should work..or ? Radu. |
