Voodoo2 limit texture memory utility?
05.07.05 at 04:46:53

where can I get the original utilities that came with the V2 1000? the hub utility which allows you to limit texture memory?
I have installed the V2 drivers for athalon, but don't have the tweak utility.
thanks
Mike

http://www.falconfly.de/tools.htm

If the Athlon Driver has the Tweak in its .inf File, it should be usable without Problems.

As seen in the ReadMe file :

=======================================================================
Installation
=======================================================================

1) Install the latest 3Dfx Voodoo2 reference drivers if they haven't
   already been installed.

2) Copy or extract the 3DfxV2ps.dll file included with this distribution
   into your Windows 95/98 system directory (normally C:\Windows\System),
   replacing the existing version.

Step 2 should work fine alone, since you already got a good Driver installed.
After that, the Control Panel should show up in the Display Properties and offer the additional 3dfx Tabs with the advanced Options.
Alternatively, you should be able to access it from the Windows > Settings > System Controls via Start Menu as well.

In short, the Voodoo2 Control Planel is just a .cpl File
going in your Windows\System Folder, that's it. Its 3dfx Icon should appear among the other Control Applets after you copy it there (if not, refresh Window with F5 should reload all Applets)

Good luck with SLI - be sure that both cards are the same brand Voodoo 2 just to avoid problems! Wink

You can use different cards, but it would involve hacked drivers... Roll Eyes

If SLI works fine for you 1st time - GREAT, 'cos it kicks A$$! 8)

...if not, get back on the forum and we'll sort you out! Wink
