Title: Canopus Pure3D and Voodoo Rush polka dot problem Post by sigtau on 23.12.08 at 06:10:16
I own two 3dfx cards that have a problem with polka dots appearing in the rendered textures. Basically, it looks like someone spray painted various colors on all or most of the rendered surfaces. I've seen this on a Voodoo Rush (Intense 3D) and Voodoo 1 (Pure3D) cards. I own duplicates of each and they don't display the same error, so I assume it's a hardware problem.
I'm sure there's no way to fix it, but I'm curious to know what is causing the problem? Bad memory? Overheated Chips? Sigtau |

Dots are usually overheating or bad GPU's. I would assume that applies to 3dfx cards as well.

I've got the same problem with 2 "2 the Max" Voodoo2's.
But only with SLI at 1024! |

Try UNDER-clocking the cards a bit...sometimes works! ;)
If not then it's bad RAM or a damaged Bruce/Chuck chip... :-/ |
