Problems w/ Mnstr 3d2 + crappy comp

First off I must explain that this is a really piece o trash computer (550 Monster emachine).  The old video card fried and sporadically freezes up.  I got an old diamond Monster 3d 2 (12 meg) from my brother and was thinking I could use that instead.  2 problems occured.  It seems I can;t find a driver that works for wind 2000 and the video card that runs 3d games.  Second, the old vanta video card has all the bios and crap and I can not just replace it with the voodoo 2 card.  I placed the v2 card in the second slot and use the voodoo2 card as an attached moniter and then change the voodoo2 to the primary moniter and that keeps my computer from freezing. The driver that allows that is the v2-w2k-1.00.00-beta.  Problem with that is that it is only for the direct3d and no games work on it Sad  Is there some magic way that I can fix this hairy deal? If anybody could help I'd appreciate it greatly.

*ugh*

Basically the 3dfx Voodoo2 Win2k V1.02.00 Reference Driver should always provide a safe start, without the need to fool around with the V1.00.00 beta Workarounds.

Otherwise, the FastVoodoo2 Drivers have been widely accepted more or less as the new reference Drivers.

--------
The Voodoo2 is a pure Add-On 3D Accelerator, thus you will always need a 2D Video Card.

The Loop-Through cable you should have received with the Voodoo2 will automatically switch to the Voodoo2 during 3D Rendering, while it will pass through the 2D Signal during 2D operations from the primary Video Adapter.

you know, this is not completely true.if you use the win2000 d3d beta or whitetigers v2 xp driver, the voodoo2 is able to work COMPLETELY without 2d card.you wont be able to see how the pc posts, but once the windows GUI is started the card will be activated..just make sure the voodoo2 is enabled and set as primary..

It uses my old 2d card to get windows loaded then it switches over to the other video card, but it only runs as a 2d card then and I cant get 3d to work, I will try those suggested drivers (d3d beta, wand whitetiger) what is the best place to get the drivers?

Correction.... I was already using the d3d beta and thats the only stable one I can use but does not allow me to use the 3d aspects of the card for games.  I tried the whitetiger's modded one that says it supports d3d and glide and so on, and it all looked fine and dandy, loaded up fine, but after about 5 sec of the windows loading up with all the icons on the desktop, the screen stopped recieveing a signal and just turned off... so it was about 95% there but somewhere in the loading it turned bad Sad  Any other ideas, or ways I can get the whitetiger driver to work?
