Title: Logitech Webcam drivers
Post by bucksavage on 28.04.15 at 07:11:10
I got a used webcam, but no disks, no driver came with it.  I tried a few I found online but to no avail.

It is a Logitech Webcam, M/NV-UBC40, P/N 861225-0000, PID LN64182

VendorID + DeviceID?
Device manager > Webcam with yellow ! > Options > Details > Hardware-IDs

This is what we are looking for
VEN_1002&DEV_6798 (example for my graphics card)

Post it here or search for it using Google.

That's my issue!  It won't even recognize it as a webcam, only a usb device.  So there is no verndor id or device id to give you.

Based on the Model No., it is a recent version of the Logitech QuickCam Messenger.  You should be able to get software here:

http://support.logitech.com/en_za/product/quickcam-messenger-product#download

Good luck!

I'm gonna give that link a go, but if it links to a download for a file called qc848enu, I already have tried that set of drivers, and they don't work with it or another Logitech cam I found at the same place I got the first one, and the second one IS a Quickcam branded webcam.  So....IDK.....

I'll have to look at home at what I have but I have an old Logitech webcam that I used to record my daughter when she was just a newborn (it was the only camera we had at the time so I recorded her with that).

What I've ran into with that, is that the software and drivers were old enough that it would only install on Win 2k or older and the software package had the drivers built into it. I couldn't find a way to install the drivers separately. Even with XP, I had to use a special software to convert the files over to .wmi from the propriety file extension that the logitech puts it as. Win 7 does what yours does now and just recognizes it as a USB device. What I'm saying is that it might be to old to run if you are using Win 7 on it. I just thought I'd throw this out there. It might not be the case but...
