Test the card in ANOTHER PC if you have one... Roll Eyes

...if the screen is STILL B/W, you have a dead V5500!!! Tongue

However, if you have a COLOUR screen - then your V5500 doesn't like your BX board! Roll Eyes

Fingers crossed and GOOD LUCK! Wink

no i'm lucky. it was the BIOS of the card. I updated it to version 1.18 (!!) from voodoo alert and tada: Color in the BIOS!

But I can play Klingon Honor Guard, it's too buggy... Hmm. perhaps Win 98 FE must die. but this is another problem....

Hmm...if Klingon Honour guard uses OpenGL, go and DL the newest Amigamerlin 3.1 drivers from Wink: -

http://www.3dfxzone.it

These come WITH the newest MesaFX drivers - use these with OGL games, it 'should' solve your problems... Roll Eyes

==EDIT==

Oops! My bad...thanks @Patience! Wink

Indeed, if you are running a Win 9x O.S. - then DL the Amigamerlin Win 9x drivers... Roll Eyes

How did you update the BIOS on the V5500?

What software tool did you use?

Which of these BIOS'z (from VoodooAlert) would be used on the V5 5500 MAC in order to use the card in an IBM-PC? (i.e a PC V5 with DVI support)

http://www.voodooalert.de/files/bios/V5/v5v118a.zip

OR

Now REALLY mate, stay in ONE thread - and PM me next time! Roll Eyes

First off, go HERE Wink: -

http://welcome.to/3dfxBios

...and DL the following. Cheesy

#From BIOS V5500 section#

1.18 (Digital Output Enabled)

#From UTILS section#

3dfx EEPROM Flasher 2.14

I used these for my V5500! Grin

To find out the syntax for flashing, just run the flash program on it's own (no BIOS name) - it should tell you how to list the commands it accepts. Tongue

If anything goes pear shaped - gimme a PM... Wink
