Title: General Video Card Collection(s)
Post by blueshogun96 on 24.03.10 at 23:53:20
I know most of you collect 3Dfx cards, but do any of you collect video cards in general?  I do.  I enjoy collecting old video cards from back in the day  8-)

So what's your collection in general?  Tell us the name of each card w/ manufacturer and link to picture if you can. Here's mine:

3Dfx:
Righteous Orchid 3D 3Dfx Voodoo Graphics (SST-1) 4MB? PCI
3Dfx Voodoo 2 (SST-2) 12MB PCI
Compaq? 3Dfx Voodoo 3 2000 16MB PCI
Unknown 3Dfx Voodoo 3 2000 16MB PCI

NVIDIA:
Compaq NVIDIA Vanta LT 16MB AGP
NVIDIA GeForce 2 GTS 32MB DDR AGP
NVIDIA GeForce 3/Ti 500 64MB AGP
Gigabyte NVIDIA GeForce 6600 128MB PCIe (Turbo Force 3)
XFX NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 256MB PCIe (Alpha Dog Edition)
HP? NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS 128MB Mobile

Others:
Compaq Matrox Millenium I 4MB?
Number Nine Revolution IV 32MB

There's probably more that I can't remember right now.  It's been a while since I've gone through all my cards.

Besides my primary collection (3dfx) I too collect videocards with chips from other manufacturers. Only the ones with 3D capability though and at best DirectX 8.1 (latest Win98se supports).

I own cards with chips from the following manufacturers;
3Dlabs, ati, chromatic, cirrus logic, intel, matrox, nvidia, powervr, rendition, s3, sis and trident.

I don't just collect for the chips; I also collect the various versions of cards that used the chips; PCI/AGP, RAM type and RAM amount.

No pictures though, camera is dead.

I don't collect non-3dfx video cards, but I do have a collection of non-3dfx cards due to having multiple computers.   :)

Pretty much everything listed on my site I love. A lot more to come too, including some very rare reference boards. All pictures are to be changed within 2 weeks for high quality, white background ones. :)

Here is 4 of my cards, note that 8800gtx has been lets say remodded.  The bottom card is quite rare.

Besides 3dfx I also collect other hardware. Both graphic cards and processors. In the future I'd also might add some hard drives and sound cards, but first I need more time :P (benchmarking consumes a lot of time ...).

Eventually the collection will vary from i4004 to quad-cores and Hercules/MDA/CGA to 3870X2 or 8800GT and alikes. With hard drives I'd like to start with 20MB MFM like the golden oldie Seagate ST225 :D.

You can find my collection on thandor.net - hardware.
