can't help but wonder, wouldn't the card get seriously bottlenecked by the pci slot?

why bottlenecked?
it needs AGP and PCI.
also i think it can use PCI66 mode like VSA-100 cards

It's not that rare is it? Just saw one on eBay a couple of weeks back. They are very impressive though.
Just because there aren't many in collectors hands doesn't mean that they are rare.

This are the first Simfusion 6k Video-cards, they i have ever seen on the
free market...
Maybe in the future are more available, but actually is this card very rare for me.
