Title: Voodoo2 and MotoRacer2 probls
Post by P200 on 14.07.03 at 01:22:40
hi guys!  ;)

Well, i`ll try to explain my problem...

When i want to run MR2 under Direct3D on my Voodoo2 the game doesn`t run, and when i run the game under software renderer it runs perfectly! What happens? I`m using the latest reference drivers and DX8.1 W98SE

Thanks! :)

patience is correct!  The game is probably trying to run the Direct3D on your primary card.  Download 3D Control Center from Falconfly's 3dfx Tools/Utilities section.  Then run it and see if the Voodoo2 is D3D enabled (the program's purpose is to toggle this).

Hi!  :D

That`s impossible because my primary card is 2D only...  ;D

What can i do???  ???
I really like to play this great game on my V2 under D3D and don`t play under Software  :-/

My 2D card is a Trident 9440...

One more thing: I`ve tried some Diamond old drivers (my V2 is originally a Monster 3DII :)) and... Moto Racer 2 works!!  ;D
Other thing: When i try to ru the game under my V2 the game shows the following message "Please insert the MotoRacer2 CD-ROM", and when i run under software it runs perfectly! ???

Help!! and thanks very much! ;)

You have DirectX installed?

I still think you should try 3D Control Center.  Your primary card may be the default Direct3D card simply because DirectX doesn't really recognise add-in accelerators like the Voodoo2.

Microsoft doesn't like add-in cards.  Ask anyone running XP.  >:(

I have installed DX 8.1  8)

I`ll try with the 3D Control Center

Thanks!  :)
