Title: Voodoo runs Bloodrayne!
Post by paulpsomiadis on 07.05.03 at 23:39:30
Now read CAREFULLY folks! :P

I've been searching for a software OGL 1.2 driver for a LONG time now and I FINALLY found one the other day... :o

So I got Bloodrayne recently and couldn't run it as it either needs DX8.1 with TnL (3D analyse WON'T work!) or OGL 1.2. (I was using a Voodoo 5500) :(

I discovered the following site with a software OGL 1.2 driver and decided to give it a shot! :D

http://csgl.sourceforge.net/

Here's how to do it: -

1. Install Bloodrayne.
2. Download CsGL.
3. Extract CsGL to a TEMP folder.
4. Copy the files from the 'lib' folder to your Bloodrayne directory.
5. Rename 'csgl.dll' to 'opengl32.dll'.
6. Run the game and select 'OGL 1.2' as renderer.

Now, before you all get excited...the game will run for a short time, but ALWAYS crashes at the first wall smash on the training level. Oh and there's NO TEXT in menus! :'(

Hey, but you gotta admit that this opens up new possibilities for the Voodoo scene! ;D

Give it a try (you WILL need >1GHz processor at least though!) :P

PEACE! 8)

Note: - since it's a software driver it will work on ANY card! ;)

And that is an understatement. :P

I compiled it once to try and run glNintendo64() on my V5500. It worked, yeah, and looked just fine - at 0.5 FPS. On an Athlon XP 2600+. :P
