Title: Any advantage of using a Voodoo 2 in a G4 Mac
Post by whodovoodoo2man on 19.07.04 at 09:59:03
Hi,

I have an old Apple Mac  G4 400mhz with an ATI rage pro 16MB graphics card.

I have a spare 12MB Voodoo 2 card lying around and was wondering if this will offer any improvement for games over the Rage chip.

Cheers

Andy

Only advantage I know of is that you'll be able to play games in Glide mode.

There are no drivers for OS X.

I guess that's quite tricky. It only works under native Mac OS.

Well mac is freebsd in it's roots.. supposedly someone would port the linux driver to freebsd - it would probably work on macosx too.

But c'mon.. there aren't that many win32 users who have 3dfx cards..
not to mention mac users
