Fans and Cooling Systems - Sunon
18.01.05 at 18:07:20

Well, it's not really 3dfx related and that's why I put this topic in this section.

I got a video card which has got three fans from the manufacturer Sunon  (www.sunon.com), but I can't figure out how to take off the upper plastic part which protects the fan blades (the fan itself). Does anyone know how to do this on Sunon fans? And, more than all, does anybody have Sunon fans?

It's driving me crazy... I have to clean the fans but I don't want to screw them up!

The weird point about these three fans (two of the same type and one of another type) is that there are no screwdrives, meaning I can't see a way to "open" them.

It looks like there's an arrow on the black plastic, maybe for telling that this way it can be removed.

I just need to take the upper part off, not all the fan out of the graphic chip.

The model numbers of the fans are (nothing on the net I could find about these, apart from specs...)

B0535AEB2-8 (two of these on the card)

B0502AFB2-8 (one on these on the card)

I hope there's a way to clean them with properly...  Undecided

Hope you'll be able to help me out...

hmm the arrow only shows the blowoff direction...

i think you must take them off to clean it directly... but i would take some compressed air (out of the bottle), hold down the rotating part of the fan and clean it with air.... (it's important to hold down oder plug off the fan while cleaning, because it can build some electric tension if you make it rotating with the compressed air)

What an idea to make them that you can't open them...
