ultima God Member Offline Always searching Posts: 876 The Netherlands Gender:	different 3dfx boxes 09.02.10 at 21:07:14 Hey guys, I was just wondering, do all voodoo boxes have the same layout?? Like the 5500 AGP, nice box, openings on the sides and plastic casing inside. I received a V3 3000 PCI german layout box, I will post pics, but it has the openings on the top and bottom, I asume that is normal??

exxe God Member Offline ^^ Posts: 1316 germany	Re: different 3dfx boxes Reply #1 - 09.02.10 at 21:11:50 to the V3/ boxes all opens top and bottom from the VSA and also the small asia V3 boxes open on the side on the TV cards i am not 100% sure think the first it on top and the other three on the side, problem they are the four bottomboxes in my tower

All VoodooTV boxes can be opened on the side, but Desktop TV/FM box cannot. Usually, all V3 boxes from europe can be opened on the top, while those are from USA can be opened on the side

From my experience it's not the difference between EU or US that determines how a box is opened.
Older boxes have thicker cardboard and open at the top while newer boxes use a less thick (less expensive) cardboard and open in the sides. This can be for both US, EU V3 variants. Also for cost reduction the later boxes all had the SGRAM version of V3 PCI cards in them.
