Post by LuxKiller65 on 21.03.05 at 20:56:06
Well, I'd like to know which of these two graphics chips is better, since I need to put a card into an old PII and thus want to have to best card in it.

Trio64UV+?

Trio64V2/DX?

???

No one knows anything? Does anyone has a link to some S3 related pages (not the official crappy empty site)?

:(

(I can't rate the Trio64UV+, since I never heard of this variant)

I'll check your site in a moment.

Yes, The Trio64UV+ is the "better" version of the Trio64V+. I read the "U" stands for UMA, which is better supported or what the hell I don't know (UMA support?).

;D

How do I see the quantity of memory? There's nothing written on the bars.

Easy :

Count and Identity RAM Chips, or see the Boot Screen (all S3 Cards I have show their own Bootscreen with Video RAM installed)

There are four chips on each cards. Does that mean they have the same amount of memory (chips are differents)?

Well, if the RAM chips are different, chances are their capacity could also be different. Makes sense, right ?

C'mon, fire up google, you know what to look for.

I can't find anymore the little program from S3 used to identify the graphic adapter which is running in a machine.
It's only a single file and the icon is yellow with the S3 symbol.
Does anybody have it?

You could use Sisoft Sandra or Lavalys Everest Home Edition. They usually give enough info on videocards.

_Perhaps_ 3DMark2000 could also be helpfull.
