Title: MechWarrior 2 Titanium
Post by Stomp357 on 22.04.06 at 10:06:19
I tried to run MW2 Tianium Edition on my Voodoo5 5500, but it locks up with a black screen when you go into battle. I tried selecting the 3DFX, and Direct3D version, but neither work.
I'm running Win98SE with DirectX 9.0c, and using Amigamerlin 2.9 driver. I also tried the official 3DFX 1.04, and 1.04.01b drivers as well. I used to run MW2 Titanium on an ATI Rage Fury Maxx, and a GeForce 2 MX400 with no problems under Win98SE. Has anyone been able to run any of the MechWarrior Titanium Trilogy games on a Voodoo 5 card?

Well not sure about Titanium, I've got regular MW2 installed on a 98se box with a V5 though and it's working just fine. Using Amigamerlin 2.9 drivers and DirectX 8.1 for it and seems ok. I don't have any of the expansions for it so I can't test those individually but I wouldn't have thought that they changed any of the coding in there to not have it work the same way. If you need anything else, card settings or what not, I can give you how I'm running it, don't know if it'll help or not. The only thing I really have changed from the default settings is the AA to 4X and V-sync off, everything else I have left default.

You might also check Activision's Support Site.  Here is a solution to a similar problem:
