Title: Epox EP-8KRA2+

Ok, just got a new motherboard from Epox and it didn't come with the cd for it. Tried downloading the drivers for the built in RAID controller but the drivers that are downloadable will not work during a fresh install of XP (F6 for 3rd party drivers). Anyone have this board? Epox's site is so ungodly slow it's painfull (i've surfed faster on dial-up) so it's been a nightmare trying to find anything about it on their site as far as support goes. Needless to say as much as I may like what this board as on it, I'm not to impressed with Epox. The RAID controller that is built into this thing is a Highpoint 372N controller. If anyone has this board, I'd appreciate any help you could give.

Have you tried these from HighPoint...

Thanks Gamma. I finally got it to work, but kind of messed up on how you have to put some of the files together on the floppy for XP to see the drivers. It's been working (ok) for about two weeks now. Just not seeing the speed I was hoping to compared to a friend of mines machine that we had set up in RAID as well. Not sure if it's the controller or what, but.... Anyhow it is working though, but thanks for the info.

Which RAID-level did you build? And which level built your friend? What kind of mainboard has your friend? Maybe it is a board with a chipset where the RAID-controller is integrated in the chipset and not connected to the PCI-bus (the Highpoint-controllers are always PCI-controllers which are soldered down to the mainboard but they stay PCI-controllers with all the limitations of the PCI-bus) so the speed is higher.

Ok, having issues with this again. Was running fine for about a month. Now, it's not detecting the secondary master drive for the RAID (Windows won't boot). If I unplug the IDE drive 3 (there are 4 IDE channels, 3 and 4 are for RAID), it'll detect the drive on IDE channel 4, if I plug drive 3 back in, it'll only detect number 3. Changed out cables for drive slot 4 and it found both drives but right after it finds both, I get the bios menu for the RAID setup saying that it only found one drive, drive 3. Unplug drive 3 again and it find drive 4 every time. Any ideas? It's a Highpoint controller on the board. From what I've read on the net, Highpoint isn't the greatest RAID controller out there, at least not this model. I was just using this for gaming knowing that the RAID could fail at anytime but this is irritating, was hoping to not do a fresh install before this weekend so I could join in the UT session.

By the way, it's set up in a RAID 0 config using two WD 80 gig 7200 rpm drives.

I know on my Highpoint setup Windows only reports one drive, you have to use the Highpoint monitoring software to "see" both.
