Alright, after all the Problems moving to V2.3, I decided to go for the gusto and installed the latest V2.4 Forum Software from scratch.

Alright, sent myself 3 EMails (1x Admin mode, 2x Forgot Password function) and it worked fine. Emails arrived within 3 Minutes.

Again, please test Email-based functions.
If that still fails, I'm seriously running out of ideas :-X

That's correct, had to revert to the backup from 2 days ago.

Working now, takes some min to arrive, (gets filtered to spam by yahoo mail)

Sweet, we got new names. God member... kind of like it. Now, if only I could get my fiance' to recognize the name.  :P   Hope the upgrade has gone fairly smooth for you.

These are the standard YaBB Forum names.
Along with several other details (tweaks to Forum Layout, Logo etc) I basically didn't touch anything in order to make sure the very basics work fine first.

The upgrade was basically divided in two parts :
Sunday/Monday - epic failures :P
Today - apparently successful ;)

Ahh cool. Well glad today worked out for you. Sucks when things don't go as planned. Our Exchange server change over from Exchange 03 to 07 has been a nightmare. I've had dreams of servers falling from the sky and trying to dodge each one as they fall it's been that bad.   :P

Since automated pass recovery works fine now and seeing we get spam already it'd be fine is guest posting is disabled asap :P

Guest posting is disabled again but I didn't see any Spam so far (?)

(otherwise I may test how far the Captcha would need to be adjusted to become machine-unreadable; so far I left it 'clean' for ease of use)

I deleted that post accidentally. realized too late I should have left it there for an ip ban. :-[

No sweat, it would merely serve to test the Forum's own protection features.

Since we don't have guest postings anyway, no trouble :)
