Best V2 driver for nforce/Athlon combo?
23.07.03 at 11:13:34

Hi,

Currently building a system with the following:-

Athlon 2600XP 333FSB
MSI K7N2 delta Mobo
512MB DDR RAM
80GB harddrive
Geforce 2 Titanium graphics (upgrading soon!)
Two Creative Voodoo 2 12MB cards in SLI mode.

Running Windows 2000 OS.

Can anyone give the best recommendation for drivers for this rig.

Currently I'm using the standard drivers on a Pentium II machine with no problems, but I've read that Athlon processors require special third party drivers.

I don't think there are any Athlon friendly Windows 2000 (or NT or XP) drivers.  Sad  You'll just have to try Anthony's driver and hope for the best.

I could be wrong.  I'm a Windows 98 man myself.  Can't remember the last time I booted my XP partition...  Wink

Hi Procerus,

How about the Fastvoodoo drivers?

What exactly is the issue with using the reference drivers with Athlon systems?

I really only need these cards for Glide applications. All the direct 3D and Open Gl is better served by my Geforce 2 card.

I think the Athlon thing is memory related?  And by all means give the Fastvoodoos a go, I've only tried Anthony's drivers here.
