I've increased the Forum registration requirements, which should now stop or slow down the recent flood of spammers.

As I still got ways to go, for now let's see how well the countermeasures work for the Forum. I'll give it a few days to see how things work out.

I got a pile of PM's with web links and offers.

PM me the Usernames and they shall be gone :)

That seems to have worked.

Now, new Users wishing to register have to file a meaningful "Reason for registering" containing the Key Words "3dfx Archive" and something that makes sense.

They are back again, reported it.

That was one I wasn't sure about (registered during the Spam wave).

Anyway, now that Bot is gone :)

(there are like 4 or 5 remaining I'm waiting for to post spam or nonsense, then they're gone as well)

lol, this is actually fun, seeing all these SpamBots lining up at my entrance, waiting for the REJECT or DELETE button to be pressed *g*

You can't expect a bot to be smart  8-)
