Got my hands on this lovely v1 card. Never saw that kind of a voodoo 1 pcb. This one has 4 mem slots free (can be soldered). Should I even bother trying to raise the memory to 6M or I ll just waste time and money ?

If you wanna' MOD it, I say GO FOR IT! ;D

...but remember that it's worth more as an 'original'. ;)

Also, you'd need matching RAM for modding... ::)

I'm all for modding! I would even dare to say that it's worth more modded! 8)

I'd keep it as is...

If you want to game on a 6MB voodoo1 card you could always pick up a Pure3D card on ebay.

Can't find any Canopus these days....full of v3s and some v2s (random vendors). If I come across with 4 of these mem modules I ll give it a try and post the results.

Canopus / miro have 4MB Textures

this card will have 4MB Framebuffer, for 800x600 w Z-buffer

Thats exactly what I want....so if I can find 4 vt514264-35 chips I ll get the v1 I wanted :P

I won't open a new thread, I'll just post here, since I am in a similar situation, but with a more special card.
I have this Skywell Voodoo1 with 4 MB and it has room for another 4 MB. Is Voodoo1 with 8 MB possible ? I saw Voodoo Rush with 8 MB, but no Voodoo1.
