Why do you want to flash? If the card runs well don't flash it, you can damage more than you take an advantage of that.

Whell to be honest, in my experience of flashing 3dfx card, i had thake in all situation advantage in that...
I have a Voodoo 1 + Voodoo 2 + Voodoo 3 2000 + Voodoo 5 5500, and now Voodoo 3 3000, and i had flashed all of them to the latest bios, never had a problem, you just have to know what your doing, and from flashing to the latest official bios, i only see improvments in the cards, if not why did they realest new bios???

For future reference i was in doupt  between 2.15.07-SD and 2.15.12-SD, as the final official 3dfx bios for my 3dfx Voodoo 3 3000 AGP(with TV-Out).
I had flashed the card with 2.15.12-SD and i got allot of artifacts, what make me think that  i f***** the card, or this was not a final official realest.
The operation was made by the book ...;)
Then i flashed the card with 2.15.07-SD and all whent well, no artifacts, plus i jumped ussing 1024x768 and 16bit, from 7X to 8Xfps in Unreal, 3X to 5Xfps in Quake III Arena, and 6X to 7Xfps in Quake II. :o :o :o
Soo this words is just to share with you guys, if this problem will hever come to any of you.

frames per sec do mostly differ in a game. so I think that there is no huge difference afterall ;) Anyways it is still great that the slightest improvement can be so worthy  8)

O.K. my fault.
Thanks for the allert Obi-Wan_Kenobi.
I know that frames per second do mostly differ in a game.
I forgot to tell that the numbers, is the average frames per second, of the several refered games.
For instance in Unreal i used Intro Castle as the reference map for the benchmark, then just push down the console and enter (timedemo 1), and let it loop... ;D
Soo in my opinion the result is quite good indied, jumping for a average of 3X to 5X in Quake III Arena on a old 16 MB card, just for flashing the bios,  is magic... ;) ;) ;)

hi there!

i have flashed my voodoo3 3k agp with tv-out from the 1.00.01SD to the 2.15.07SD.. theres no problems.. i dont have a benchmark tool i dont know if performs better, but i might say it looks sharper now.. at least on my blurry screen..

the thing is i have downloaded a program called Tdfx-bioseditor v1.61.. it can load a 3dfx card bios, and edit its properties.. it also has a feature to compare different bioses, but just on the Registers tab... the registers of both bioses 1.00.01SD & 2.15.07SD were identical.. but it has a lot of interesting things...

my question is.. in the MiscInit1 extended tab, there are some features disabled.. like..

24 - 0 (0,1) - PCI Fast Device, Default strapped on VMI_DATA 0
25 - 0 (0,1) - PCI Bios Size. Default strapped on VMI_DATA 1
26 - 0 (0,1) - PCI 66mhz. Default strapped on VMI_DATA
27 - 0 (0,1) - AGP Enabled. default strapped on VMI_DATA 3
28 - 0 (0,1) - Pci Device Type. Default strapped on VMI_DATA 4
29 - 0 (0,1) - Reserved. (Napalm - pd pin value (input value of the pd pin)
30,31 - 0 (0,3) Reserved (Napalm pd signal control (0,1=tristate, 2=drive low, 3=drive high

there are a lot more things to edit around, but these seem quite basic.. and all em seem disabled (value 0)..

so.. what do u think about it? should i enable the 24, 26 and 27, and try out? what about the rest? wtf is that VMI_DATA?

any other recommendation for using this program with voodoo3 3k bioses? tweaks that are known working or whatever.. i cant find FAQS or anything about it..

i hope that wasnt too much questions hehe  :D

thnx for advanced!

pd: any help with the program wpcredit and the VIA ApolloPRO chipset, is aswell welcome  ;)
