Title: AA and online FSP's in general
Post by jandarsun8 on 10.12.05 at 08:10:55
Ok question, for the most part AA (America's Army) is the only online FSP that I generally play. I'm getting owned though. I mean I play FSP's all the time, generally it's either single player on expert setting or the highest it'll go or the once a month Lan party with 10-16 friends and I don't suck this bad. You'd think that after playing AA for a good 4 months that I'd have a decent grasp of the game but damn. Is playing online, any online shooter, really that different then playing on a Lan? I know, there's a lot more to it. Upload speed on the person hosting it, other people's internet connection speed, the amount of hops to get to that server and so on but ouch. I mean going through basic traing in AA, I got a 39 out of 40 my first time through it, quilified for sniper right off the bat. In game though? I can't hit the broad side of a barn. :P  I've got a 6 meg download, 2 meg upload cable connection but it's like this on every server I play on. Is it just my inability to judge because of the lag or is it something else? What ever it is, I'm not getting it. Sorry for the rant, just frustrating sometimes. Games are supposed to let you relax and to release your tension but sometimes I feel like pulling out my hair because it gets so annoying.  ;D Anyway, just thought I'd ask on what your opinions maybe and even if anyone else plays anything online that would maybe help me to learn what I'm missing.

P.S, I'm not looking for a way out of learning how to play a game or cheating in any way shape or fom, what good is that? I'm just looking for some legitatimate answers to go off of. I mean if in general it takes people 6 months to really know what your doing in a game and I'm at the 4 month mark, well then cool. I'm on target. If it's only taking people a month and it's taking me 4, then what am I doing wrong? You know? That's more or less what I'm getting at here.

Um you can delete this post, after reading this, I can't believe I even posted this. I'm sounding like my PMSing girlfriend.    :P   I"m just going to shut and play, maybe I'll learn something.   ;D
