Title: Voodoo3 and XP
Post by Ree on 27.11.05 at 13:49:26
Hello, I am new here and have a driver related question. First of all, I am using Voodoo3 2000 PCI. I have been using Win 98SE before with Amigamerlin 2.9 and mesafx, this was ok. Now I absolutely must install WinXP, and I do not know which drivers would be best for my card. I think I should install Amigasport 3.0 XP and mesafx, but then again there's SFFT which I am not familiar with. Could someone tell me exactly which drivers I should install for win xp? should mesafx/wickedgl be used? Any help would be greatly appreciated, since I am confused with all this driver stuff.

Since the SFFT Driver targets only specific new Direct3D Games, the AmigaSport should be the best "allrounder" for you.

All right, so I install Amigasport and the mesafx, right? Is it going to be the best 'combo' in my case?

Also I'd like to ask one more thing: Win XP installs its default voodoo driver upon installation and in Amigasport 3.0 XP readme it is stated that old driver should be removed. Can I simply install Amigasport on top of it? If not, how exactly do I remove the driver?

Try "Driver Cleaner" in WinXP safe mode. ;)

Be sure to find the NON-PRO version of D.C. as the new 'pro' release is a bit sucky... ::)
