GoDaddy - *solved*
03.12.11 at 19:21:05

A few months ago i decided to buy a .com domain name. I used godaddy to check if its available or not. GoDaddy looked like a good, trustable site, its advertised in various places, and it looked friendly. I was wrong.

After i typed my domain name into GoDaddy's domain name search bar, it was free. After a few weeks, i decided to buy the domain, but suddely it was taken. I tryped to the browser, and suddenly, there was a GoDaddy ,,but this domain'' site for 49 EUR!!!

I was very angry.

But later i decided to buy the site, so i have transfered the money.

This was the second time i was wrong.

After this, an auction appeard in my profile, asked me to make a starting bid for the domain...
GoDaddy even evaulated my site: 70-120 euro.

So GoDaddy basically makes a hostage from your domain, if you want to register at them, and immoraly abuses the rights of the costumers.

they payd back my money at least.

Maybe the domain name was one that had not been renewed and was in the "cooling off" stage, these names are often open to bidding before full public release.

Still they should have made it clearer as to exactly what the status was, nice to know that you got your money back.
