At least you replaced it with something which is at the very least as valuable as that card. Sometimes you've got to make sacrifices yea. Smiley

Yes exactly I did keep a hercules radeon 9700 pro prototype though with this sweet blue green PCB and a total different layout of the chips as compared to the production variant, as it has no heatsink under it's VPU, it has just one white sticker showing a name tag, with part number and 128 wirtten by hand with a red marker from the Engineer, for the rest no barcodes what so ever.

Top: Hercules 3D Prophet 9700 Pro AGP 128MB DDR Rev.A02 0234 Pre-Protoype
Bottom: Hercules 3D Prophet 9700 Pro AGP 128MB DDR Rev.A02 0251
... ...

As you can see the FALCO coils are different as well.

here a better look of the card it's self Smiley
... ...

I still have this card btw Smiley

Must of been VA hehe, Though I am not sure it's a Pre-Production Prototype but since it had many hardwarematice differences like them FALCO's the layour of it's SMD's capacitors the VRM heatsink as no heatsink on the rear side of the VPU this did confuse me for a Pre-Production prototype or an early Evaluation board hehe

Ah just got me this one today Smiley

ATi R680 Non-Qualification Sample aka Evaluation Board.
...

http://cgi.ebay.nl/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=23033...

...

You can tell it's the Non-Qualification Sample because of the original Ruby Sticker and the part numbers on the Fan and the side of the cooler's windtunnel.
I will make more pics of this beauty once she has arrived Smiley
It's the same card from this Preview Wink
http://www.anandtech.com/showdoc.aspx?i=3209

A Non-Qualification Sample which is the card sent to Previewers and reviewers before the card hit's the market, these cards are also known as Evaluation Boards.

Yes, all of them are able to play Quake 1-3.
The Wildcat is even fast enough for Quake 3 @800x600x32 with high details, so it's faster than a Permedia 3.  Wink

Amazing, very impressive. Smiley

I wonder if my Glint 300SX (1994) could play some OpenGL.

The Permedia 1 is running very well:

But you should really test your 300SX!  Wink
