Yeah! The Bike is very loud with those "Big Gun 3" Pipes on it ;D They can hear me ;) It's a 1450cc/88ci, 6 speed. Lots of torque I'm just starting to get used to it. I'm not as shakey when I get off now. I've never owned a Harley before but I have driven the 1340cc/80ci, 5 speed and a few friends have the 1200cc/74ci Sportster. I'm the last one of the group to get one. It's a lot of fun :) |

Not sure? Here in the States we do MPH and it's a U.S. bike (no KPH on the speedo) I haven't had it over 90 MPH but I'm not suppose to be on the Freeway yet cuz I only have my motorcycle permit. No night driving and no passengers. I have done all but night driving but don't want to push my luck. Thursday I take my "behind the handlebars test". I don't think I want to go much faster than that. I had too many close calls on those rice-rocket bikes in our younger days. We all sold those bikes and decided to go to Harley Cruiser style bikes. Just getting old I guess :-/ |

Those are nice bikes too..
But I've owned Hondas and Yamahas all my life. It was time for me to get an American bike for a change. (That is if I want to ride with my friends). That bike would be much more comfortable than mine :P |

Title: Re: My New Obsidian... Post by gamma742 on 30.10.06 at 01:51:25
Well, you really can't compare the two, one is a cruiser and the other is for touring. They're both nice but of course I like Obsidian (Sid) better ::)
I know, I'm a little strange, cuz I name my vehicles :D |
Title: Re: My New Obsidian... Post by Obi-Wan_Kenobi on 30.10.06 at 02:05:37
haha that ain't strange we have something in common I name my PC's
Sveta the AthlonXP 2700+ FireFox the Athlon64 X2 4400+ Yoda the Pentium4-E HT 3400 ;D[Laptop] My Brother in law named his farmcar The Green Bird lol, it's a Citroen Berlingo lol. The old car was a Citroen Visa Combi that one perished, he crashed it of a dijke :-X so the Green Bird was the runnerup haha, only I wouldn't reccomend Citroen since it ain't that reliable, I rather choose a japanese brand like Toyota, Mitsubishi or Subaru |

I have to be honest. My bike is a 2006 not an 07. I couldn't snag a wallpaper for the 06 from H-D you can only get the 07 model from their web page.
They look the same though ;) |

It must be difficult to get parts for. I once owned a Honda CL 70 Yr.1970, That was back in 89-92, the Honda dealerships wouldn't help me, told me it was too old. It was a great bike for just putting around on. It was street legal and I basically used it like a moped.

Not bad at all gamma!
Nice weather to go along with that bike too. Did you just mention it cost US$ 20,000 ?? |
Title: Re: My New Obsidian... Post by gamma742 on 23.11.06 at 18:15:14
No that's what a 2007 similarly equipped bike would have set me back. I found it listed on eBay for $14,888.88 with 936 miles on it. I got him to cancel the listing and sell it for that price. It's really hard to buy an almost new bike on ebay in California, the State Dept of Moter Vehicles won't let you bring cars or trucks into the state with under 7500 miles unless you can prove ownership and that you are relocating to the state. So I was limited to finding a deal in CA state as I wanted nearly new. I plan to ride today, it will be in the mid 70s F. San Diego weather is about the same as Los Angeles as it's only about 100 miles away which is where I bought the bike. I have over 1800 miles on it now ;D
