Title: Trying to run Voodoo 3 3500 TV on XP Post by RNEY on 08.03.04 at 20:03:58
Ok this is my problem... I have two of them...
One (my main problem) is I am trying to capture video off of the tv... I have a voodoo 3500 TV running on XP. I have downloaded the Amigo Sport 3.0 and the visualreality 3.10.06. Right now when I hook up the TV to the pod it does work so that I can view my computer screen on my TV. What I really am wanting to do is watch TV on my cpu screen and capture video. When I try to open the 3dfx TV it is giving me an Error mesage that says"Warning...The TV drivers are not installed. please install them by pressing the 'Driver' button..." I don't know what to do from here...I have already uninstalled both the Amigo and the VR and then re-installed them and the same thing is happening. If there is anything that might help me with this it would be great! Second, I am wanting to play my Playstation 2 on the computer screen... I have hooked the cords into the pod but don't know what to do from here...what program do I use on my computer to be able to actually watch and play the PS2 on the cpu.. THANKS !!!!!! RNEY |

Hm, the old Troublemaker under WinXP is indeed VisualReality.
There are free alternatives (e.g. DScaler) to VisualReality, which people have very successfully used with the V3-3500/TV under WinXP. Just look or search in the Forum, it's located with Linkage in a recent Thread. |

I have seen that thread before but can't find it...do you know the Subject of it? Or do you know where I can find another program so I can watch tv and capture video.
I was wondering...Am I for sure going to be able to do this with XP? Thanks RNEY |

I finally got the visualReality to work but I still can't capture video on it. When I click on the VCR (this is what i figure you use to get video) it gives me an error message but I can't read it...It looks like it is in Chinese or something.... It is also makeing every word on my computer looking like these weird symbols...does anyone know what the F;;ck is going on with this?
thanks |

Well, I think it's time to scrap VisualReality then, and use one of the alternative Programs.
VR was never designed to run under WinXP, and has been one of the most Troubled 3dfx applications existing there :-/ |

I too, want to try this. I tried my V3TV with the VR software to see if I could the TV signal to appear on the screen. That works fine. But I want to hook the video up to the card also, and be able to record from my VCR to MPEG videos on my computer. Can I do this? Is this possible?
If so, I take it, it would be better to try this on a Win9x system? |

Well, if VR is already running on your XP machine, I'd say "don't touch a running system" and just try it ;)
