Load testing the power supplies now- I have the KT-266 platform with an AMD 1800+ running Quake3 in a window with a V5-5500 with everything turned on while Toast loads the cpu at 100%.

So far the voltages look stable.

I had to look for some time for the proper "silver" units.

Yes, it is indeed a Tyan motherboard.

yeah I wonder if it can do FSAA x4 & FSAA x8 like the 8164 can Smiley since a Merc setup can do FSAA x2 & x4 even Motion Blur, I wonder what that 4116 has in petto, we all would wonder this  8)

um, kind of confused on the power supply. Isn't that a regular ATX PS? What's the difference between that and something you can buy off of the self (serious here, what's the difference?)?

The power supply brand, color and rating are required for my project  Grin

It's all about the specs.

Normally the 3.3V- and 5V-rails at a PSU around 430 watts have about 25-30 Amperes but this PSU has 40 Amperes each at the 3.3V- and the 5V-rail but "just" 20 Amperes at the 12V-rail (for comparison: a Seasonic S12-430 has 30A each at the 3.3V- and the 5V-rail but two 12V-rails with 14 respectively 15A).

Does the hardware need such a high amount of power at the 3.3V- and the 5V-rail? Or do you build another system which has been sold in that configuration with that PSU?

Close, very close.

I'm assembling a system that was to be sold and had been seen in prototype form.

Is it another Merc' system? ???

==EDIT==

Just looked at your MERC "games tested" page and noticed you had some problems getting U.T. 2003 to start (at all). Tongue

There 'is' a software driver for U.T. 2K3 or 2K4 (can't remember which just yet...) Roll Eyes

I'm away from my main PC at the moment - but I'll have a look when I get home and update later! Wink

a setup for the Voodoo5 6000 Rev.A1 1500 or isn't it 3dfx based?

unless if it was meant to be sold then a 6K wouldn't be it either, hmm it is something from Quantum 3D let's see, it has Dual Pentium !!! S.E.C.C.II layout board, an intel chipset might be i820 or iGX440 something in that direction?

Anyways it is SMP based, dunno if it is 3dfx or nVidia based heh
