today,i just pop ou the heatsink glued to my v5500,and i took a look on the vsa chips and there is what i got (355-0026-220,F26708.1 AS)<--my v5500
(355-0025-221,F26689.1 AS )<--taken frm plasma online
I'm getting excited

if you're using win9x you can check this by using original drivers..3dfx info (of the hub) should tell you
if using winnt you can check this by running the directX diagnostic tool..
but (please) don't run the voodoo5 without heatsinks!
at all, i think you've just a further stepping to what you've seen online..

Micha relax,i will never do sumthing as silly as running these beauty(Beast?).I have a 9000pro,which i'm using it right now to type this msg.

I think it can't be VSA-101 chips because that would mean you (could) have DDR-RAM on the board...well, i've never seen a pci graphics card with ddr-ram (even newer ones don't have). so why should the 3dfx engineers build a card with functions it couldn't use? i bet these VSA-101 chips were only used on the last Voodoo5 5500 AGP...and of course the Voodoo4 4200 Daytona
