Ok, my main box was having over heating issues since I put in the X1950 Pro (512) card in there- Saphire. So I went out and bought a third party cooler. No big deal, until I read further in. I bought an Artic Cooler Accelero X2 cooler. Can be found here
http://www.arctic-cooling.com/vga2.php?idx=90&data=7&disc=Anyway, after reading further the X1950 series of cards need a heat spreader on the three Voltage Regulators on the back of the card (doesn't come with the cooler, have to order it seperately). While waiting for this part to come in, I returned my X850 Pro back into it's original spot, reinstalled the ATI drives and we're back up and running...... for about 3 hours into my game when I get booted out to windows. I go back in the game and I'm out to windows after about 3 minutes. I go to shut down and reboot and as soon as I hit the start\shutdown button it locked. I rebooted, and have to go into safe mode because it's doing a continuous reboot. I go into event viewer and I'm getting nothing but DCOM errors. Event ID 10010 I believe. After looking that up on M$ website, it's got to do with Terminal services but most of it the post are regarding Serv 2003 and I'm on XP SP2.
Sorry to make a long drawn out story, but with out that part of it, I didn't think I'd make a good point of what the problem was.
If I'm playing a game, and granted it was over the net, I still shouldn't be getting errors regarding Terminal services and DCOM should I?
Any thoughts? It's getting irrating because it's now a week since I got my part in, got my X1950 Pro card back in my machine with updated 7.6 cat drivers installed and it's still doing it.
This didn't happen until I changed out cards.
