All trays beside one are sold to members of the voodooalert.de-forums so I don't have spare ones, if anyone wants to ask. Wink

If the board is non functional then i would not worry about that capacitor. That will not bring it back to life. If you really want to know, it is a 16V, 10 microfarad electrolytic capacitor.  This is the type: http://www.niccomp.com/Catalog/NACE.pdf

You can always try to solder on a regular 10 microF capacitor. You will find 25V version instead of 16V but that is not a problem. I hope it will work, though i really doubt it.
Good luck! Alpar

I agree, please remember the Voodoo402 4200 PCI 16MB and 32 MB are prototypes in some motherboards they may not function properly!!!

Like what happened with my Voodoo5 5000 AGP, it didn't function in the EPoX EP-8K5A2 Rev 1.1 it gave Black Screens as well in 98SE, 2KProSP4 and XPProSP2, but on the ASUS A7V333-R Rev.1.02 it worked perfect in 98SE with 2D and 3D and in 2KProSP4 and XPProSP2 it worked perfect in 2D but only single Chip in 3D , in dual chip SLi I also got the Black screen.

So what you are experiencing maybe Pure Prototype Flaws, it may work in a total different enviroment by meaning another Motherboard, Do not try changing the cards design by adding Capacitors that may destroy it.  Wink

Prototypes have the capabillity to succeed or fail, that's what makes them prototypes.

There is no reason to harm a working voodoo for the capacitor. You can find them in electronics stores. If you are lucky enough, you can find the exact type, that can be found in the linked pdf. That one costs about a quarter of a dollar, and if you don't find that, you can buy a regular 16microF electrolytic capacitor (usually 25v parts) for even less. BUT as Obi-Wan-Kenobi said, it might be the mobo at fault. (but probably isn't)
What you can try is to boot with another videocard and use pci.exe from dos, and look for 3dfx device id (121Ah). Read Hank's post:
http://www.3dfxzone.it/enboard/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1077&whichpage=1
If the card will be seen, then it is alive. It might have bios problems, or many other problems, but it is alive. I think this is the first thing you should do.
