obsidian2 90-2440 video card HELP Info
10.07.10 at 06:52:03  
midway arcade game was told the odisidian2 PCI card 90-2440 has small square chip with white label numbers.one has 546-0014-02 and one has 546-0024-02.was told had to be one with 546-0024-02. the 546-0014-02 wouldnt work dont know difference except numbers on white lable on chip .would different board work x-24,banshee, s-12 would they take certian chip numbers.any info or help.thanks for time.

there are some arcade systems how work with a raven PCI (banshee)

what arcade system did you have?
vegas?

i dont know iam complete idiot on chips and cards.just was told by a ex midway tech that hydro and off road thunder arcade games had this certian card with certian chip wouldnt play without it.and it wont tried several different ones. also told me good luck on finding one. maybe other games have it i just dont know what they were.

I know somebody with the same problem. He's got a quicksilverII system and the original board just died for some reason.
What exactly asks for this lock-out chip - the game or the motherboard? If it's the motherboard maybe we can change just the motherboard?
Is there a possibillity that this chip is a flash and it could be reflashed?

as far as i know the 6pin header on the card is for flashing/ programming the chip.

I've never used a programmer before. Is there a difference between them? Or I just need the correct head for it?
