Not you Obi Smiley

We're just guessing, Gary's dropping the hints. Like yes and no to the two part questions.

I'd rather figure it out by pics. Like piecing together a puzzle Grin

Hmm...so it's a Q3D 'case' but without Q3D hardware... Shocked

Anyhow...for your MERC games section - I found the UT2003 'software' renderer. Cheesy

There's some INI configuring involved...but it's simple stuff! Wink

GO HERE: -

http://unreal.epicgames.com/oldnews4.htm

Search the page for "pixomatic" and download the ZIP file with the driver. Smiley

Good luck with running UT2K3 on the MERC! Grin

Yes and no, not a 4xxx system.

There's only one other system I can think off that would require such a PSU. And I simply refuse to believe that you have 4 AAlchemy 8xxx cards Lips Sealed

not an AALchemy 8464 setup you would need a totally different PSU and PSU setup for that Wink do remember that the 8164 needed a speacial PSU, "A serious warning though as the power supply for the video board is rated for 75 amps @ 2.9 volts, it has 75 AMPS on the 2.9V feed which is the core feed for the 8 VSA-100 chips.", though there are newer based ones with later based power up modules true there, but still if you want to power up 4 8164's as an 8464 setup you would deffintiely need alot more than just a single 425 watt PSU Wink

I also remembered this heh Lips Sealed

Gary wrote the following:
"I'm assembling a system that was to be sold and had been seen in prototype form."

The NitroX Infinity asked if it is a Quantum3D system as his first question:
Quote:
Is it a Q3D system?

AAlchemy 4xxx anything to do with it?

1. Is it a Q3D system?

his second was:
2. AAlchemy 4xxx anything to do with it?

So Gary answers with

Yes for question 1 and no for question 2 Wink Look:
Quote:
Yes and no, not a 4xxx system.

The Paulpsomaidis asks:
Quote:
Hmm...so it's a Q3D 'case' but without Q3D hardware... Shocked

and till then no answer, so what I think it is is the following:

It is a Dual Pentium2/3 based rig since it has Dual SECC/SECCII connectors, it can house up to 4x 512MB PX-100/133 or 4x 1024MB PC-100/PC-133 ECC REG ram modules, since that some duallie P2's and P3's could house a max of 2GB or 4GB depends of what board you have.

It does have a True AGP x2 3.3 Volt slot, so maybe an Avenger based card will go there since Avenger & Pentium3 were from the same time.

But yes Gary did use a Quantum3D Case, why this I do not know maybe that Quantum3D was mak'n 3rd party systems as well or they were planned to do that but that never came past the Final Prototype Field tests.

This is just my vision of things dunno if it true though, leave that to Gary I will my friends.
