Title: 3dfx drivers
Post by Shaden on 17.10.04 at 22:12:46
Hello, I just recently upgraded my OS to Windows XP from Windows 98 SE. Thankfully my computer is running much better now, except I keep getting a 3dfx error message and a message stating I need to send in the error results to Microsoft (which I do), then I get redirected to  website referring me to 3dfx Voodoo 3 site. Now I do not know what type of Voodoo3 card i have so I am not sure which patch to download to fix my error. I do know that my voodoo graphics card is an original card bought through Gateway Computers.
Can anyone help me out as to which specific patch I should get to fix my problems?

Thanks in advance.
Adam

Please post EXACTLY what the error message says... ;)

Once we all know we can probably solve your problem in no time! ;D

(it's probably just drivers, but we'll come back to that...) ::)

Since XP has no native support for Voodoo 3 that I'm aware of I think drivers would be a very good call.

Thanks for the input all. I will try and get the error message written down next time it pops up. I do beleive it IS a driver issue. I just need to know which drive patch/upgrade/fix I need to Download to solve the problem.

Again, thank you all;
Adam

Did you ever resolve your problem with your 3Dfx driver?  I am having the exact problem since I upgraded to XP.  I also have a Gateway computer.   Thank you!

no I haven't gotten the problem fixed. I did find a beta fix for the program, but I still seem to have the same problem though less frequently now. The beta fix was a link from the Nvidia site.
Good luck. I never did get the error message tracked down specifically, it only just said an error has occured with 3DFX and it is reporting the problem to microsoft. Then a window popped up from microsoft taking me to the Nvidia site for the beta patch. Good Luck!
