Title: Some computer hardware humor to lighten up! Post by gdonovan on 07.02.07 at 20:07:00 Out of coverage and bad sectors... hmm... I know just the thing.. some Black Talon loving! (Black Talon is a high performance self-defense handgun round, in this case .357 from a stainless S&W) Glad to see with iron sights I can still hit what I'm aiming at. So remember guys, if you have to go into a bad section of town just stuff you vest pockets with a few of these. I love living in the middle of the woods. |

whaa a hand gun, damn, the bullet did quite some damage but didn't succeed to penetrate fully, I wonder how a double barreled Riot shotgun would do to a HDD? :-X
heh I have a floppy drive to demollish tonight :) It kinda had some smoke comming out of it's rear end, it died of a short cicuit ;D, I wonder what would happen If I drop it out of my 21 feet high bedroom window on to the tiled floor below? it's time for some Mythbusting ideas :) I will post pics tomorrow of the results ;D |

.357 magnum stainless handgun from about 40 feet away, you should have seen that HD jump about 5 feet in the air. |

With shot less damage than this round which is VERY high velocity, but a typical sabot round from a sluggun would have more kenetic energy and blow a hole clean through. US troops in the field carry shotguns with solid rounds for door breeching, nothing does a better job taking locks out. Check out this site if you have an interest in gun mythbusting- http://www.theboxotruth.com/ |

Freaky :D would one of those slug guns even go through a HDD? since HDD"s are nearly like black boxes, small and tight.
I bet one of these Ruger 10-22's should do a nice hit on a HDD :) you can use the scope to aim perfectly ion the middle, I know Sniping is fun at times :) Nice site Gary :) |

Nooooo! You killed a WD HDD... :'(
...but still LOL! ;D ==IDEA== Take the remains and add nitro in a small bag - tape to hdd... ;) Take the now 'nitroglycerinised' HDD and 'carefully' drop it off a nearby building... :D WAHBOOM! ;D HDD parts all over the shop! ;D ;D ROFLOL! ;D |

A .357 magnum has 1240 (fps) velocity and 539 ft/lbs of energy, compared to a 12 gauge sabot with 1530 fps velocity and a staggering 2274 ft/lbs of energy. Yes, the average shotgun sabot would make short work of a harddrive. 10-22 doesn't have much energy, does have a lot of velocity though. .22 doesn't have much mass behind it. |

Yeah, too bad we don't do ground calibration runs anymore ;)
But I'd guess there'd be nothing left really of a HDD when hit by 20mm AP. |

I had had no time to hunt in this season because of my studies that's why so few animals got killed :( suprisingly I haven't got a lot big fish but my biggest fish is 5kg pike. ...but usually I got more than 30 perch at one fishing trip ;) |

OK, you passed the test! Every fisherman MUST exaggerate, and I'd say you just did that (if you didn't, then you're no fisherman!) ;) I also go fishing sometimes... But the biggest fish I layed my hands upon is a ~3.5kg Bass. He're a joke about a fisherman that allways extra-exagerated: Every time he came back from fishing trip he would have spread his arms wide and say: "the fish I caught was THAT BIG". Of course, everybody knew that he over-does it, so one time they decided to make fun of him. Before he got the chance to speak about how big the fish was, his friends tied his hands together at ankels, so that only palms were free. Then they asked him: "NOW show us how big a fish you caught!" He thinked over for a while, then spread his palms as far as they went and said: "The fishes eye was THAT BIG" ;D Now, that's what I call a fisherman ;) |
