Croc: Legend of the Gobbos Unofficial 3Dfxpatch
01.07.08 at 00:57:02
Hello, I am new to this forum. I registered with hope that some of you may have "Croc: Legend of the Gobbos Unofficial 3Dfxpatch". It's patch that, as the description says:
"Fix for Croc: Legend of the Gobbos. This file makes some changes in dll files of Croc: Leggend of the Gobbos and allows the program (you must select "3Dfx VooDoo Compatible" in "Drivers settings") to be used with all Glide Graphics Card. (you must have installed last glide dll on you pc).
This is an UNOFFICIAL 3RD PARTY FIX so use at your own risk."
The only place where I found this patch is
www.actiontrip.com
but their URL to this file is broken. Please, if someone has this file, please inform me here or(ever better, via e-mail).

croc supports 3dfx out of the box so I don't really see the point of this patch, unless it unlocks higher resolutions or something like that..anyway,I think I can share the 3dfx executable if needed (provided I'll be able to find the cd
)..

yes, i also thought that croc supports 3dfx cards in general but if someone made this patch i guess there were some restrictions. i also have problems with running this game on linux, and it fails using glide wrapper(carmageddon 2 works fine with that wrapper); that's also makes me think that there were some restrictions in supported cards.
guess i do not need anything from croc cd, because i have it at home. but if you have some extra not official 3dfx .exe please share.

watching this game install on xp was hillarious, sooo fast.
Anyways, it appears 3dfx works right out of installation...

yes.just make sure to delete the glide files that get created in the game's folder after saving the settings (they are outdated and will crash the game if you are using a 3dfx card or wont launch it if you are using a glide wrapper)..
btw, this was the only game that ran accelerated on my rage2c
edit: that unofficial 3dfx patch only removes old glide files from croc folder (necessary when you want to run the game on newer 3dfx cards),so its only required by those people who are not able to delete 3 files manually

Heh. That explains a lot on my old PC. Now I get to finally try Croc on my Voodoo3 3000 AGP on my TV!
Let's hope the 'rusty' machine can live it up for over the past years.
