Installing Windows Viiissssttttaaaa

Ok, if you guys haven't tried the beta 2 out, here's a heads up. IT'S A SYSTEM HOG. Downloaded it, 3 gig download, must be burned to a DVD. Machine it's going into, must have a DVD. I installed it on a 800 PIII with 512 megs of ram and a twenty gig HD. Took
over
two hours for the install and used 6 gigs for a real basic load. Uses 446 megs at idle with nothing running in the background except windows components so 512 megs are a minimum without trashing your HD because of memory swapping all the time. I'll be playing around with it more this weekend but it's system intensive. Just thought I'd let you guys know if you haven't played around with it yet.

Microsoft are really taking the PEE with the requirements for their new O.S.
WAAAAAY too much bloatware, as if XP wasn't already bad enough!

Yep, if I wanted an OS that's as slow and resource-hungry as possible, I'd just install all available Norton Products on one machine + install three Virusscanners and Firewalls each

I think that fully installed "Norton Utilities" is quite enough

@off topic:
The only thing I like from Norton was Speed Disk and that was so long ago I almost forgot.

seen it last beta before release
also checked out solaris 10
suse linux latest
and windows server 2003
vista s rubbish slow and bulky on a p4 2.4 512 ram
server on the other hands super fast
even on a p3 800 256meg of ram
they should scrap vista and realise a 2003 workstation
