i understand having to start somewhere but to me 1 card is 1 card, 2 voodoo2's in sli are 2 cards, what if some guy/girl just likes v4 4500's and has 50 of them is that not 50 3dfx cards that that person collected? im sure if someone asked him how many cards he had he would not say 1 , his collection is just different, just like v3's, there just slight variants of the same card over and over where as some other guy might have one card from each chip, i dont know why i have to open my big mouth but i really believe a collection starts the minute you have 2 cards..

I know it's not perfect, but I gotta draw a line somewhere.

Technically, allowing - 2 - Cards as a "Collection" would look 'odd' (from the term of 'collection', it's like 2 Stamps don't quite make a Stamp collection, right?), furthermore it could lead to several hundred postings/entries in that Listing, which is not what I had in mind for it.

I also would like it to stay in some form of relation to the 'big picture', after all some folks around here have Collections listed there in excess of 100 cards.

If someone has 50 identical Voodoo Cards, that still qualifies (not very interesting, but qualifies of course)

Reply #407 - 17.12.05 at 12:41:37 well i see your points. i was just pointing out a collection is a collection, no matter if 20 different cards or 20 of the same, its still 20 cards and Falconfly you have always done a great job with this 3dfx site, i'd never second guess you.

Someday I would like to own 3 Mercury Systems in a Swap/Lock Sync/Lock Ring. Not much of a collection, I know. But if you had ever seen the Q3D Tech Demos you would understand my attraction to them.

It might be a bit of a stretch but I could count the 200SBi cards separately for a total of 12.

Pfft looks like hell to me- As the article indicates what is being displayed is just a streched out single channel.

Three Mercury's would be rendering 3 distinct views running the OpenGVS applications.

Ok I got this one from Taiwan before the holidays but I forgot the cable for my camera in my flat so I couldnt post any pix.
So Here it is Upmost 3D Game Master I, it took me quite a while to convince those guys down there to get it to me (it even changed owner 1x during the procedure)

The card has basically CardExpert(Gainward) design with heatsinks and stickers added and it's dated 9735.
Obviously it's an asian market only card.
( The "3D Game Master I" sticker covers the FCC numbers

)

Since details came ok I decided to post a higher res than my usual 1024x768

well as a Boeing 747-412 pilot in Flight Simulator 2002 and 2004 it does look streched out to me you can better have the Merc I can tell ya that. I you compare Gama742's pic with that Parhelia the Quantum3D set wins it is absolutely not a streched image hehe the Q3D set was also something like 20K un US dollars new a Parhelia is just something very cheap compared to a Merc system, and they are slow also I rather use SGI Cobalt Graphics systems for Real Time Flight Simulators lol.

if you followe the horrizon you don't see a rounded edge
