ZAP - POWER UP!
==============
I thought about mini-itx computers and the PSU's they use. An external laptop type 'brick' and an internal power converter.
But they were still too big!
Enter the 'pico-PSU' an absolutely weeny teeny 12V to 120W DC-to-DC power converter board (the size of an ATX mainboard power connector!)
PERFECT - I snagged it and a 12V laptop PSU (which only draws 36W from the mains) from eBay - and an ATX power extender lead. As the Laptop PSU only draws 36W, this achieved the <50W limit!
After chopping up the extender lead to attach it to an on/off switch at the front of the case, I was set!
Or so I thought...
THE INCIDENT
===========
So here I was mere seconds away from finishing - all I had to do was to put the poewr socket for the laptop 'brick' into the back of the case. Problem was that the hole I drilled was a little snug...
"Hey, I bet I can tap this in with a hammer!" I thought...
TAP, TAP, TAP...
"Cool it fits!... . . .Huh? What's that?"
And to my horror I'd created a big crack across the back of the case - GRR!
Although it didn't affect the operation of the machine - and the case is so sturdy it holds together even WITH the crack!
Ah well...

THE FINALE
=========
So yesterday I finally get my own 2Mb broadband line (no more sharing with my Uncle on his 1Mb line - wheee!)
I configure my port forwarding on the router - fire up 'u-torrent' and the 'Wafer PC' is finally doing what it was intended!
I've taken some pictures - but I have to finish the film and get it developed!
I'll edit this last post with the links to the JPG's once I have the film developed...
THAT'S ALL FOLKS!

LOL! Yeah, I know it's not that exiting due to lack of pictures...
...but I 'could' have used a webcam for 'instant' pictures.
However I decided to use a 'proper' camera for some 'nice quality' shots.

Vista? eww.
Dual boot 98SE/Win2000.
The 4500 is just for testing.
I still need to get the correct drives and backplate.
Anyone know how much to ship a ATX backplate from Germany to the states?
Should be no problem mailing in a regular number 10 business envelope.
Anyone in Germany lend a brother a hand?

shouldn't be more than 4 euro's Gary really, maybe alot less , just don't let them send it via DHL, Deutsche Post is far cheaper otherwise TNT is a very good option, my Familly in Lunde % Osteradde told me this, it's near Heide , North Germany to be precise..
