are you sure that these games aren't free already.

The Quake 3 demo can be played on line if I remember right, that would make it very easy for everyone to play.

I'll look into it this morning.

heh that quake3 demo runs like hell on my X800XT PE with Motion Blur w00t! Grin

but yeah that would be fun, only it's a bit small, only 3 levels heh, unless it's possibe to add more maps?

Anyways I would prefer Unreal Tournament Smiley the openents look more realistic and it has the advantage of dodging Smiley

When is the next UT match Paul? it was fun, sorry I had to leave so soon my firends were watching the 3dfx fragfest, they really liked the idea Smiley

LOL glad it worked. yeah, i was a little less affected by lag Tongue   Was hoping it wasn't that bad for you guys though, i've got a meg upload but with locations and network bog down can see why it was happening. I'll try setting up my other machine as a dedicated server next time maybe and see if that helps.

Hopefully by next week I will also be able to have another machine running as a dedicated server... Grin

It's missing a wireless LAN card at the moment (one is in the post though!) Wink

Anyhow - next Sturday will be fine for another match, but a bit earlier on this time! Roll Eyes

nah no Q3 for me thanx , I'll stick to UT and please this ais a UT topic, please keep it UT based. Roll Eyes

UT GOTYE 1999 also has more stable server setttings for a network setup and you can use the random map option also, something that is missing in Q3A.

in UT you can choose 3dfx Glide API, also a major difference.
But it's inderstandable that some of you's prefer the bleep bleep of Q3A ...

Yeah, but remember... Wink

Q3A + WickedGL = Happy 3Dfx card! Grin

It may not allow for GLiDE, but it doesn't have to make like nVidia... Roll Eyes

LOL! Cheesy

hmm I prefer an ATi card in any game actually, because of the better Image Quallity lol, thanx to ther FSAA x6T3 setting which has the same image quallity as FSAA x18 Wink + AF x16 High Quallity lol, no NV SLI set can keep up with that qua image quallity.

ATi just has better boundries with Image Quallity.

Hey Paul There is a nice songle player + Co-Op mod for UT GOTYE 1999 as well.

it's called Operation Na Pali:

your not going wireless are you Paul? Just with my experience with wireless is it's great for netburst speed meaning checking emails and website and stuff but doing any constant data streaming, just doesn't work that well at all.

My router is combo - wireless/wired. Wink

D-Link DI-624 8)

I can have my main Athlon XP 3200+ as server (wired) Smiley

And my other backup machine (PIII 600) as wireless. Wink

I have to do this because my setup only allows for 4 wired devices. Tongue

LAN PORTS (on router)
================
1. Main PC (Athlon) - wired
2. Low power downloader PC (Cyrix MediaGX 233) - wired
3. XBOX - wired
4. PS2 - wired

WAN port - goes to cable modem

So my backup PC HAS to be wireless! Roll Eyes

Shouldn't have a problem with data loss though, as it's in the same room as the router. Wink

Also the router has a powered booster aerial on it. Cheesy

We shall see... Tongue

(If it lags, I can always just play from my main rig instead of using it as a dedicated server) Wink

Yeah, pretty L33T mod - although the only criticism I can say is that the maps are a little confusing at times... Tongue

heh for a beginner they can be confusing but after playing it for like 40 times or more you really remember the way heh

After my 4th rounds of that mod I kinda knew where everything was Smiley lot's of hidden places too, it's one of the best Single player & CO-Op mod's I've seen for UT GOTYE 1999 Smiley
