The Geforce card only has one chip on it, the V5 two. I doubt it would cool the V5 properly.

A plate to connect the two might just work fine.

IMHO if you put 2 cooper heatsink on each VSA chip, the big fan vrom NV5 Silencer should be enough to create a satisfing air flow !
Or even better, like gary sad - a plate to connect both heatsink will disipate better the heat..hm..when we use an heatpipe between both ..
It's just an ideea
As long as i don't own such a cooler, it's hard to say the cooling eficiency .. but i will search for one

YESSSS !
I love to see that !
You got the ideea PS47 !
BTW, maybe the case with the cooler should be bigger. Try one from the NV Silencer 5 or 6. They should be fit better.

Looks good!
Maybe it will look better if you put the picture only on top of the plastic cap. Like this:
Only images on top of the cap/board
.

...problem is that (with that design) the caps and coils on the card get in the way...
Oh well!

Might fit, the board in the picture does not look to be a V-5500, it has a AGPx8 cutout on the edge connector and dual DVI.
Edit- Sorry if I misunderstand your post, the picture makes it look like the silencer is on a 3dfx board.
And the board is even blue. ^^

I managed to mount a modified X1950pro Cooler on one of my 5500s
No I'll "just" have to have a decal or something to fit on it
And of course a small 3dfx-decal for the fan..
The fan is from a OEM Geforce 6700XL (or what it was called) its much better than the original one
I just have to test if it blows enough to cool the card @ 7V
