Title: Where to find directx7 Post by Mr._Smiley on 17.01.05 at 01:01:35
Hey, I just got this old dell for free and I want to update the drivers to V1.07.00 but It says it requires me to have Directx 7 already installed. Well right now it has directx1 and I can't find directx7 on any sites so I need some help with that. http://www.falconfly.de/info/relnotes-voodoo3-win9x-10700.htm
This is where Im getting my directions from. I want to use this comp. to hold emulators and roms. Thanks, Mista :) |

Just install the latest version, DX is backwards compatible.

How about this ?
http://www.falconfly.de/directx.htm Not a 100% complete collection, but it might be what you're looking for, if you want a specific DirectX Version. But it is true, the DirectX Versions the Drivers require are minimums only. |

Ok thanks for the info. So should I install a different dx before I install the driver or do you think I could get away with installing directx 9 after I install the driver?

You must install the DirectX Version you desire before installing the Driver, in order to meet its minimum requirements.
If the already installed Version of DirectX satisfies this requirement, it would not matter (e.g. you could install the Driver and then upgrade to a higher Version of DirectX if desired) |

Ok. Could anyone explain to me how I can install Direct x 9c without being hooked up to the internet? I tried installing it but it wouldn't install properly unless I have the internet. Should I try to install the 8th version or is there a way to make a Direct x installation disk without the internet?

Now that's an oddball.
All DirectX Files found in the Archive should be the full Redistributables for Offline Installations. I haven't got a test System available right now to make a test-Installation (most of my Systems are Unix or Linux anyway), but I will see and investigate this over the weekend. |

I have DX 8 and 9 on my harddrive, no internet required.
A lot of game magazines discs have them for distribution. |
