Is this driver theory correct?
26.11.03 at 15:11:46
Am I to believe that the FastVoodoo2 drivers are for the Voodoo2, and the AmigaMerlin drivers are for my (soon to be purchased) Voodoo5 5500 ?? ???
Am I onto a winner here by any chance?

Also, are these the best drivers to be using?
I really don't know as I haven't used the cards in a few years. There are so many flying around, but these 2 names have come up on the list more than others.
I am using WinXP, so am I using the best stuff here?
Answers on a post card please!

Yup, your research is correct: -
FastVoodoo2 - For V2 cards...
Amigamerlin 3.0 - for Voodoo 4500, 5500 and 6000...
They are usually the best drivers to use, I swear by them myself!
Although your milage may vary with Amigamerlin 3.0 and some of the newer games out there (some people have had 'glitches').
Seem to work fine for me though!
Fastvoodoo2 drivers really kick A$$!
'Nuff said! 8)

So if the "mileage" is too much, what do you suggest??
This WickedGL thingy (that I know nothing about)?

Err...like you said, you "don't know" about Wicked GL...
So here goes!
It's basically an OpenGL 'miniport' replacement for Quake style games (and other Open GL games too) that was made by Wicked Systems (it's not being worked on anymore now though!)
However, this only replaces the Open GL miniport files to improve performance in OpenGL games...
You'll still need a 'proper' set of drivers...
Best advice is: - go with what you KNOW is good first, if that doesn't work, then try something else!
There are LOTS of drivers to choose from in the 3Dfx archive, so take yer' pick!
Good luck! 8)
