HMPH!
I still think that UT is better!
Q3A is fine, but UT requires more strategy and less "destroy, destroy!"

in Q3A the bots are less smart as in Q3A in Q3A they are much faster and smarter, Q3A has a better AI.
the fun of Q3A in general is that it's ultra fast and action packed, in UT, I personally miss that, UT is however more realistic it's because the bots look more human like as the weapons are more fun and the other nice thing is the dodging part.
all weapons in Q3A have a zoom function all weapons in UT have a secondary function as some have acombo function as well, which makes UT more fun qua weapons for different modes, if sniping is your thing then Q3A is the game for the sniper since all weapons have the zoon in feature.

I think you meant this...

Not everyone has UT, anyone can download Q3 demo.
Just fyi anyone can download the UT demo also:
http://www.beyondunreal.com/main/ut/utessential.php
Just scroll down to demos. Online play in demo version is possible also. There even exists a glide only demo, not sure of ver. # but a google search would turn it up. One level has some 3dfx graphics. Morpheus ?
Hope this helped.

Sja that grammar wasn't a subject here, like FalconFly requested, and yes my previous post was indeedly rather nitchy for that part
just remember what happened @ Loki's...
@ Paulpsomiadis
yes you are right in a certain point of view
sorry for my messy post at you, i suppose you didn't mean it that way.
It just read like a totally different meaning, and that is still a problem we all come across here.

@SuperBee - VERY good idea, I'll check into it later this week...
As for 3Dfx stuff - been playing some practice matches in the most 'classic' way possible!
UT + Orchid Righteous 3d V1 4MB 8)
Still amazes me that these, the oldest 3Dfx cards - STILL look better for colours onscreen than a Radeon!
Okay, it's slower and has more jaggies - but WOW!
ItS LiKe PsYcHaDeLiC MaN...
ROFLOL!

heh yeah 3dfx Glide rocks in UT on any Voodoo w00t!
totally agree there, also why it looks much nicer than Quake3 too
So I made some nice V6K shots for ya Paul 8) , only I will compress the pics into .png files next time just for better compression, .jpeg isn't the best wat to compress heh
Reso 1280 x 1024 x16 in Glide FSAA x8 LOD -8:
BOOM HEADSHOT!
Reso 1600 x 1200 x16 in Glide FSAA x4 LOD -8:
BOOM HEADSHOT!!
There you are, all the nice experiences in Glide on a V6K
When will be the next match?

WHOA! Those shots look almost too sharp to be GLiDE - that's the V5 6K for ya'! 8)
Hmm...how about some shots of DM Gothic - that's a nice map (lots of coloured lights...)
Next match is Saturday again...if anyone shows up!
LOL!
Time = 15:30GMT and onwards till everyone has to leave...
Server name may change if I use the DEMO version...but IP should remain the same...
@Obi - I can take some comparison shots of the Voodoo 1 if you like, which picture hosting website is best? ???
I hear that ImageShack is a bit CR@P now...
==edit==
More download mirrors for the demo...
http://www.3dgamers.com/games/unrealtourn/downloads/
If we use a DEMO, could evreryone DL the v348 (inc. the two small fixes)...this way we can get more players - even if not everyone can use 3Dfx cards.
(I know it's better to use our Voodoo cards, but it's not always possible!)

well The V6K is in the IKEA Table, since I had many intabillity problems with the 8K5A2+ motherboard, so I'm using an ASUS A7V333-R with the ASUS AX800XT PE AGP + 3dfx Voodoo 5 5500 PCI for now, but I can arrange 1600 x 1200 x16 shots with FSAA x4 with AmigaMerlin 3.1 R1 for ya with that level you requested no probs
since it's a Napalm series card the effect of 1600 x 1200 x16 in Glide with FSAA x4 should be the same of that on a 6K with the same FSAA setting hihi
The OpenGL API for UT runs great on all ATi cards, no glitches nothing, with nVidia cards, I'd say use the Direct3D API, runs best on NV cards, and 3dfx, well you can use all 3 if you'd like, take Glide for best imagequallity as best performance
Well there was another hosting site somewhere, I know that imageshack is cr@ppy indeed at the moment, I'll have a peek around for ya.
This Saturday shouldn't be a problem.
Edit:
Here's a nice one Paul
http://www.imagehosting.com/
No irritating banners nothing, it's all clean there

Ookay, here's a LOT of screenies from my Orchid Righteous 3D Voodoo 1 4MB - Ahh, the memories!

--------------------------------------------
All shots taken @ 640x480 - then +40 brightness and converted to JPEG.
@Gary - have you noticed that the screenshot function of UT sometimes doesn't capture all of the effects the Voodoo cards are capable of...
e.g. you CAN see coronas in one of my early shots on the lanterns...
...but they are missing from the other shots!
Also, would it be possible to get some (camera based) shots from the Heavy Metal Hg of some of these maps.
I know it's a PITA since the only way to see the HM Hg is to use a camera - but the results would TRULY kick A$$! 8)
(again though, the UT shot function doesn't capture what you 'see' onscreen)
